Wimberley 2018

Catching up a bit here on all the fun we've had this spring!

This year marked our 8th annual getaway to the darling little Hill Country town of Wimberley. We spent 10 nights at our favorite cabin on a creek, while we rented out our Austin home to a group for the SXSW festival.

Here's a look at our adventures!

Upon arrival to our cabin, the girls were gifted with brand new Easter bunny pajamas. They were SO cute as they admired themselves in the bedroom mirror:

As per our Wimberley norm, Iyla slept in our bedroom with us while Eloise claimed the spare room. Typically Eloise is a rockstar sleeper, but it had been a LONG time since she'd been put in a BRAND new-to-her room and in her pack-n-play. She wasn't so sure about it, and each night needed lots of extra cuddles and reassurance before going to sleep. She also is already almost too big for that pack-n-play!

Eloise had a good time finding all the new things she could be naughty with explore, like pulling blind strings and climbing around the fireplace.

The girls were thrilled to rediscover the hot tub, and playing in it (with the temp turned down to a warm pool like temperature) became a nightly tradition!

We dined at our favorite local Leaning Pear restaurant:

And had friends come up to stay over for a night to play with us!

We all took nicely to the vacation lifestyle, including daily car naps for Iyla while en route to wherever our dinner destination was for the evening:

Here we are at another favorite spot: Palmers in San Marcos:

We also road tripped to Gruene, where we listened to live music, had dinner on the river, and finished off with ice cream!

We explored the magical EmilyAnn Theater Gardens:

And took several several trips to our all time favorite restaurant, Trattoria Lisina:

The girls both figured out how to take selfies:

And Iyla and I did a series entitled "My Mini-Me and I:"

We did a lot of relaxing around our cozy cabin:

And discovered that baths in the sink weren't really meant for two!

Poor Eloise face planted off of a bench on our trip to Gruene and got quite a bruise!

Our last day in town happened to be St. Patty's Day, so we made the most of it with breakfast out, a kids' theater show of The Princess and the Pea, & an afternoon trip to San Marcos to play at an Irish Pub:

Till next year, Wimberley!
